Thousands of Maya site exist in
Petén, more than 3,000 had been
found to date, but experts estimate that more than 100 are still
unknown, due to lack of investigation funds and agriculture use
of the land, several sites have not been investigated or even
superficially recognized, we try to mention the most important
ones by geographic regions in Petén and Northern Alta Verapaz
